Johnnie and I have known each other for over forty years. Most of the time we have competed with each other on first, Caroline v London, then BBC v Commercial, and now, Radio 2 v BBC Local. We worked together briefly at Radio West in the early 80’s, but we were never on the air at the same time. We have always been mates. There are stories of evening and weekend gatherings in various parts of the country that have turned up in Johnnie’s autobiography, or will soon turn up in mine.

This year being the 40th Pirate bash, we finally did a special together for Radio Kent.

Now, the law according to Sod clearly states that if ever you make a programme you’d like to hear again, the Listen Again feature on the BBC website will have technical problems. This is what happened to us.

Luckily, the show’s producer, Jonathan Whitchell, had a CD copy, so here it is for you to have a listen.
